Our History

Since 1981 under the responsibility of Navy Captain António M. Lopes Antão, supported by his sons, Pedro Antão and João Antão, and by a team of competent professionals with extensive technical and pedagogical experience. 

The School is accredited by the portuguese Direcção Geral de Recursos Naturais, Segurança e Serviços Marítimos (DGRM) as a “Training Entity for Recreational Skippers” in all the categories currently provided for by law: Junior Skipper,  Local Skipper, Coastal Skipper and Ocean Skipper. 

We also have Navigation Courses by Instruments (Radar, GPS, Depth Sounder, Plotter and Electronic Chart), Nautical Meteorology, Safety at Sea and First Aid courses, and it is also possible to do “tailor-made” training, that is, adapted to the needs and vessels of trainees, as well as providing practical training on voyages and deliveries or collections of vessels anywhere in the world.
